Aftercare Tips
Taking care of your new tattoo is essential to ensure proper healing and vibrant results. Please follow these aftercare steps (Or specifically what your artists advises):
1. Leave the Wrap/Film On
Keep your tattoo covered with the bandage or wrap for the time advised by your artist — usually 2–4 hours, or longer if using a second skin (like Saniderm).
2. Gently Wash the Tattoo
Once the wrap is removed:
Wash your hands first
Gently clean your tattoo with lukewarm water and a mild, fragrance-free soap
Pat dry with a clean paper towel — do not rub
3. Apply a Thin Layer of Aftercare Cream
After 48 hours, use a recommended aftercare product (like Vitamin E cream, specific tattoo aftercare or any fragrance-free mild moisturiser). Apply a very light layer — too much can clog pores. Do this once a day, or twice a day (morning and night) for super dry areas.
4. Avoid the Following While Healing
No soaking: Avoid swimming, baths, spas, and saunas for at least 2 weeks
No sun exposure: Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight and don’t apply sunscreen until it’s fully healed
No scratching or picking: Let any scabbing or flaking happen naturally
No tight or dirty clothing over the tattooed area
5. Healing Timeline
Days 1–3: Slight redness, swelling, and weeping — normal!
Days 3–7: Light scabbing or peeling begins (can get itchy, do not scratch!)
Weeks 2–4: Surface heals, though deeper layers may still be healing
Healing times vary, but most tattoos take 2–4 weeks to heal on the surface.
Consult your artist for further assistance if you have any concerns.
